The MT/MV-SERIES Rectifiers are compact and service-friendly designs which comply with high industrial requirements and guaranty excellent operational reliability. 'MT' stands for Thyristor Technology and 'MV' for Variable Transformer Technology.

The MT-SERIES rectifiers are categorized in four groups, depending on the type of cooling used:

AIR COOLED:
MTA-MODELS
WATER COOLED:
MTW-MODELS
OIL COOLED:
MTO-MODELS
OIL - WATER COOLED:
MTOW-MODELS

Air Cooled Rectifiers should be used in applications where sufficient "fresh air" or a clean air supply and installation space is available. If sufficient 'clean air' is not available, or a more compact installation space is required, water- and oil-cooled rectifiers are an alternative.

Oil and Water cooled systems are still a strong and reliable solution for applications in harsh industrial environments. These designs allow a more compact integration of power. The main components are built into a corrugated steel tank. The heat losses are convected through the corrugated surface.The adjustment of these rectifiers is done by means of a motor driven Variable Transformer (MV-SERIES)or electronically by means of Thyristors (MT-SERIES).
